Nishat Garden was established in 1633 AD by Asif Khan, the brother of Queen Nur Jahan, who in turn was the beloved wife of Mughal ruler Jahangir. The garden is situated on the banks of Dal Lake, at the foot of the Zabarwan Hills, some 11 Km from Srinagar's city center, and affords a superb view of the lake.
